But why am I wondering what it is about when I know what I am doing and what it looks like. But I think it is inherited in the Human selves to ask Why when it can not be explained. We have been doing that for centuries. But in the art world people keep on asking "Why?". But is that not what makes things art, not knowing what it is about, but getting intrigued by the fact of not knowing?

So actually I am making unexplainable work, making something that needs to be explained by the viewer, but in such a way that the object is also explaining itself. But is such way that people can not understand it.

Inside my work, landscapes, sceneries, etchings, photographs etc, one theme is always returning and that is nature, it the form of animals, birds, gecko's etc. I AM fascinated by nature and how we humans interact with it, or want to let it play by our rules, makes order in that chaos.

So this also brings me to the fascination with people, in my work I meet many people that inspire me to make artwork, just because I want to share there view on the world on my own way. Especially when i work with people with a disability who see life is good in the smallest things.

This shows itself in the human faces in my work, sometimes very expressive faces and sometimes like they are looking at nothing. The faces I see in daily life intrigue me, when people walk by with a grumpy face, or the smiles of children, all faces tell there own story, sometimes about life, sometimes about the day, and sometimes even the past minutes.

But beauty is not always within the whole picture, sometimes it is in the smallest detail, sometimes made on purpose, sometimes as a present even to myself.

And that is exactly what I find back in my own work, and I hope many others do as well.
